My Review

Pretty good read.  It is a well put together military, action Sci-Fi book.  I haven’t read the series that went before this book.   The 2nd book, of this new series, I am just finishing. It reminds me of the early work of C.J. Cherryh, David Weber  and the military Sci-Fi of Elizabeth Moon and Tanya Huff.  It also reminds me of my 1st review on this site.  I have to say I enjoy these reads.  Not overtly violent but war novels non the less.  The loss and cruelty of war is pointed out and not glorified.  The characters are winning and the way they interact is interesting.  The character development is better in the 1st book – regarding the 2 main characters.  In the 2nd book the author [probably at the insistence of the publisher] has backtracked a lot to fill you in on the story and the main characters seem almost plastic and I have to say I was impatient.  Any new character or action is just as good as the 1st books efforts,  I hope they stop reminding you of the character’s past feelings and get on with the stories.  Having said that – I await the next one and probably will look at the initial series that brought this story forward.
